What We Fund and Who We Are

Winter Pineapple Classic is owned, produced, and executed by the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and all proceeds go directly to support LLS. Our mission: cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is the world's largest voluntary health agency dedicated to blood cancer. LLS funds lifesaving blood cancer research around the world and provides free information and support services.

This mission is carried out through funding extensive research for treatments and cures, government advocacy, patient assistance programs, community outreach and education programs.

Blood Cancer Research

LLS research investment has played a critical role in advancing therapies for blood cancer patients, including targeted and immunotherapies.

As there are no means of preventing or early screening for most blood cancers, the LLS research agenda is focused on finding cures. LLS drives research in areas of unmet medical need and helps to bridge the gap between academic discovery and drug development.

We fund research grants to support every discipline in the blood cancers, and we partner directly with biotechnology companies to accelerate therapies.

Policy & Advocacy

The LLS Office of Public Policy is charged with pursuing LLS's mission through advocacy aimed at governmental decisionmakers. LLS will continue to focus on using advocacy to work toward a cure and improve the lives of blood cancer patients.

To advance its policy goals, LLS encourages its volunteers, friends and other supporters to contact their elected representatives - in Congress and in state legislatures - to share with them the impact that blood cancers have on millions of Americans each year and to urge responsible policies that will address the serious burdens of these diseases.
