PORTLAND FIRE NEEDS YOUR HELP.

This coming spring we are going to climb the Columbia Tower, in gear, on air, to help CURE CANCER. Your donation, no matter how large or how small, will help LLS fund the research that will make blood cancers a thing of the past. Help survivors today, give hope to patients tomorrow. On March 10th 2024, #yourPortlandFirefighters will join 2000 of our fire department brothers and sisters in Seattle, Washington to climb the second-tallest skyscraper west of the Mississippi. We will climb the tower in full turnout gear, while on air. We will put our bodies, our minds and our hearts on the line to demonstrate our commitment to helping those in need. Hopefully our efforts will inspire you to make a donation to Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. LLS is the world's largest non-profit health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research, and providing education and patient services.

All winter leading up to the climb, we'll be working hard training and fundraising to get ready for event day in March. This extreme test of physical endurance and mental toughness is the largest event of its kind, anywhere in the world. Climbers will ascend almost 800 vertical feet in gear weighing over 50 pounds; taking on 1,356 steps over 69 floors, one step at a time. Not everyone can climb, but all of you can make a difference.

In the coming weeks and months, you'll see us online. You'll see us in the news. You'll see us out in your community. Because cancer can afflict any one of us, anyone in your family, anyone you know.
