Welcome to Dustin's Personal Page

Hi, My name is Dustin. I have been in the fire service for over 20 years now. I started as a Explorer in high school at Springfield Fire and life safety. My mom put me in it to keep me and my twin brother out of trouble. I didn't think to much of it then. Over twenty years later and few other places, I am hooked and I love what I do. I get to, every day, meet people in there worst situation, right where they are at, and find solutions to there life altering situation. Weather it is a medical emergency, car accident, water rescue, or house fire, we show up to, hopefully, make a bad situation a little bit better.
I currently work and serve the community of Keizer Oregon. Over the years I have been put in situations that put myself and my fire community at risk, in an effort to help other. The scary part isn't what we is in front of us, its the harmful things left on our bodies years later. The risk for our health, in fact, is greater.
Its easy to fight the threat that is in front of you, to show up for others in there time of need, but what about the threat you can't see. My hope in participating in this event is to show up for my brothers and sisters in the fire service that are walking a fight that last longer then the one they signed up for. By participating in the Leukemia Lymphoma society stair climb and raising money, I get a chance to stand up and, in essence, fight the battle they can't. In hopes to make there life a little bit better.
I also climb for my family. My cousin Zeke and grandma, are living a better life, thanks to the advancements made in research of cancer.
