A native Washingtonian, Shauna has been volunteering ever since she can remember. It comes as no surprise that her passion for giving back has turned into a career with years of non-profit fundraising experience under her belt. No stranger to flexibility and unique experiences, Shauna lived and traveled the country in a tour bus while previously supporting various national campaigns. In addition to fundraising events, Shauna earned her M.A. in Communication from the University of Oregon and worked as a college instructor. Lastly, as a former college and semi-professional athlete, Shauna knows the benefits of hard work, persistence, and dedication. She joined the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in Summer 2017 and is grateful to put her passion and dedication towards finding a cure.
Tyler was born and raised in Washington State, growing up in Federal Way, WA - a place that he himself says he is "way to passionate about". Tyler's connection to Federal Way is through his work in coaching, education, and community leadership, where he invests his time as a coordinator for the local Special Olympics Program and other activities that work with people with disabilities. Tyler came to LLS as an experienced and enthusiastic specialist in community engagement and development in January 2020, and is excited to be a part of a winning team that is going to take down blood cancer.
Half New Yorker and Half Seattleite, Addie comes to LLS most recently from Weill Cornell Medicine in NYC, where she developed a highly personalized approach to fundraising. She also holds a Master’s degree from Columbia University in Nonprofit Management. Addie's mission is to save the world, one funded cure at a time, and this stems from her personal journey with disease. At the age of six, Addie was diagnosed with Alopecia Areata, an autoimmune disease that rendered her bald. While she lives her life as a proud bald woman, her experience with Alopecia reminds her that there are others with life inhibitors that are far beyond her own experience. Addie is passionate about fundraising and looks forward to inspiring others in the LLS mission.
Garrett grew up in the Pacific Northwest Region and is an avid fan of stand up comedy. Before coming to LLS, Garrett worked with the Deschutes River Alliance, while completing his Master’s degree in Non-Profit Leadership at Portland State University. He is passionate about making a difference in the lives of patients and their families and is looking forward to building relationships with donors and volunteers.
Andrea grew up in Olympia, Washington and moved to Seattle April 2018 after graduating from Western Washington University. Andrea has a degree in Spanish and Communication Studies, with a focus in Event Planning. Andrea joined the Big Climb team September of 2019 after working on the national campaigns for over a year at the Washington/Alaska chapter. As someone who has participated in Big Climb for the past five years she is excited to now be a part of the team that makes the exciting event experience and fundraising happen for others. Andrea has a personal connection to blood cancer that drove her to fundraise through Big Climb during her college years and can’t wait to work closely with other friends and families who have also been affected by blood cancer.
