In Loving Memory of My Father, Richard Imperatore
Hello! I will be participating in the 14th annual Winter Pineapple Classic on Sunday, November 10th in support of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS).
This cause is very close to my heart - as my father was diagnosed with Leukemia in September 2018. After an incredibly heroic battle with the disease, he lost the fight on January 24th, 2019 - less than 2 months after his 61st birthday.
Even with some of the best nurses, support staff and facilities available - the team of doctors assigned to his case were left powerless to defeat a disease that continued to outmaneuver them and grow stronger with every round of treatment. This is why I feel continuing to support research is so important.
My dad always looked out for others and placed them above himself in so many ways throughout his life. He was my coach growing up, both in sports and in life, and he coached multiple generations of young athletes in the community where he grew up and lived his entire life. He was also very charitable, supporting many causes and foundations on multiple levels, some closer to the heart than others.
This year I am picking up the torch and fundraising for LLS in hopes that families touched by these terrible diseases might have more hope for the survival of a loved one.
In memory of my father - I am participating in this event for the second year in a row - and I would greatly appreciate your support in raising money for this important cause.
Thank you for your support!
