Team Captain Mud Myeloma
Aloha!
Russell "Rusty" passed on April 15, 2020 from complications related to Multiple Myeloma blood cancer. When he was beginning treatment in 2016, my wife, Trisha, decided we needed to get involved in a meaningful way to raise awareness and funds to support those fighting and in the fight to end blood cancers. In year 1, we were 11 strong. In year 2, we were 22 strong. In year 3 we were 44 strong, In year 4 we were 34 strong. Dad was extremely proud of our team and was honored to be made an honoree for the event in 2019.
Our Team Mud Myeloma, sponsored by Charles Schwab, will be participating in the 15th Annual Winter Pineapple Classic on Sunday, November 8th, 2020. We will be competing on behalf of my dad, Russell "Rusty" Sinnott, and others that are affected by and fighting blood cancers.
This year as we participate in his memory. I hope to make this our biggest year yet. Dad was a people person, he met everyone where they were and treated them like family. He touched many, many lives in his 64 years. I know it is an extremely difficult time for our blood cancer community, the healthcare community and our general world population. However, it is my hope that we can all come together for this event on the 8th of November in honor and celebration of the great man my father was, to continue to shed light on and to raise awareness for blood cancer and those in the fight to end it.

What is the Winter Pineapple Classic?
The Winter Pineapple Classic is a fundraiser 5k(ish) obstacle course at King County's Marymoor Park on 11.08.20. Pineapple is not timed and is a family friendly event. All participants carry a pineapple (provided by Chestnut Hill Farms) and most dress in costume. The more money we raise the more event day perks that are unclocked! Such as a Georgetown Brewing beer garden, a Hawaiian buffet and long sleeved shirt. Although this obstacle course is a test of physical endurance, it pales in comparison to what blood cancer patients endure. All proceeds raised directly benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and since its inception, this event has raised over $4 million.
Thank you for your time, consideration, and sincere generosity. We Pineapple because beating cancer is in our blood.
