Kathy's at it again
Have Fun. Get Dirty. Save Lives.
This year as I participate in the Pineapple Classic I will be attacking every obstacle with energy in honor of my brother David who was diagnosed in May of this year with non-hodgkins Lymphoma In June he started his chemo series. It seems that each year, I am adding another name to my list of people I am honoring or in memory of.
So much progress has been made is the treatment for cancers. I will keep at it until I can no longer participate.
With Covid-19 challenging us this year, another brother will create an obstacle course for me to complete if the Pineapple Classic is cancelled.
Raising funds, though, is the most important.
What is the Winter Pineapple Classic?
The Winter Pineapple Classic is a fundraiser 5k(ish) obstacle course at King County's Marymoor Park on. Pineapple is not timed and is a family friendly event. All participants carry a pineapple (provided by Chestnut Hill Farms) and most dress in costume. Although this obstacle course is a test of physical endurance, it pales in comparison to what blood cancer patients endure. All proceeds raised directly benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and since its inception, this event has raised over $5 million.
Thank you for your time, consideration, and sincere generosity. We Pineapple because beating cancer is in our blood.
