Libby Volunteer Fire Department
Climb. Conquer. Cure.
30 Years | 1,356 Steps | 3.2 Miles | 400 Step-Ups
Hello! The challenges of 2020 brought so much of the world to a halt. Events, parties, holidays, and so much else was cancelled and postponed. What remained consistent, however, was the unflinching commitment of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to its mission to end blood cancer.
On May 15th, 2021, our team and department will be virtually “climbing” Seattle’s Columbia Center by climbing 1,356 steps from we are. This massive effort, coupled with LLS’s fundraising this year, are no small feats but are also nothing compared to the everyday challenges that cancer patients, their families, and healthcare providers are facing every day.
Our in person event may have been postponed, but cancer hasn’t been. Cancer is not cancelled, but neither is hope.
Our commitment to a cure for blood cancer is not cancelled and we ask you today to support this virtual climb with a donation to LLS today. Your donations to our team/department will be evenly distributed amongst members.
What is the LLS Firefighter Stairclimb?
For 28 years, the LLS Firefighter Staircimb was the largest on-air stairclimb event restricted to current, career, volunteer, and retired firefighters. In 2020, we climbed as one from our homes, departments, parks, and trails and we will do so again in 2021.
On May 15th, 2021 Firefighters from around the world will climb the 1,356 steps that it would take to reach the top of Seattle’s iconic Columbia Center virtually. Join us as we step up to take cancer down!
