Climb. Conquer. Cure.
Hello friends and family! On Sunday, March 8, 2020 I will be participating in the 29th annual LLS Firefighter Stairclimb in support of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). This will be my second year participating in this very meaningful event in honor of my family and friends who have been impacted by these horrible diseases.
I am proud to be participating as a member of TEAM EVERETT!
This year 71 Everett Firefighters will be participating in the Stairclimb – the largest team we have had in our 29 years of participation!
We will be climbing in full fire and breathing gear in a physically challenging competition that represents the struggle that blood cancer patients endure. Every step to the top serves as a reminder there's still work to be done in funding and finding cures.
In the past two years I am proud to say that Everett Fire has been #1 in fundraising out of 337 departments and 2000 firefighters participating. Please help us continue to fight blood cancers by clicking on the red “Donate Now” button.
Thank you so much for your support!!!
What is the LLS Firefighter Stairclimb?
The LLS Firefighter Stairclimb is the world's largest on-air stair climb competition, and annual fundraiser held at the tallest building in town, the Columbia Center. All 2,000 participants are career, volunteer, or retired firefighters who will climb up the second tallest skyscraper west of the Mississippi in full turnout gear, weighing over 60 pounds, while on-air. Throughout this grueling course, we all remember that every step forward is representative of moving closer to a cure. Although this is an extreme test of physical endurance, it pales in comparison to what blood cancer patients endure. All proceeds raised directly benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and since its inception in 1991, this event has raised over $20 million thus far.
Thank you for your time, consideration, and sincere generosity in this cause worth climbing for.
