Climb. Conquer. Cure.
69 Flights I 1,356 Steps I 788 Ft. Vertical Elevation
Thank you for taking the time to visit my personal page. This year I will be participating in the 33rd annual LLS Firefighter Stairclimb on Sunday, March 10th 2024 in support of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). This will be my sixth year participating in the event, and fifth year climbing for Boise Fire. Before I ascend the Columbia Center in downtown Seattle, I will be raising funds throughout the season in the name of funding and finding a cure. Please consider making a donation to not only help me achieve my personal fundraising goal, but to benefit patients and their families everywhere. For the past six years, I have dedicated this climb and the mission to loved ones, Donna French (a close family friend) and Lloyd Struttman (my wife's grandfather), who have lost their battle to blood cancers. This year is no exception as I raise money and climb in their memory. Furthermore, my aunt, Vickie Phillips was diagnosed with stage 4 lymphoma over Thanksgiving in 2022. She just celebrated her 81st birthday, over a year from her initial diagnosis. For me the mission of the LLS and this staircliumb continues to be a personal one as she continues her fight like so many others. Any donation is very much appreciated, and I thank you for your support.
Best,
Max Weaver
What is the LLS Firefighter Stairclimb?
The LLS Firefighter Stairclimb is the world's largest on-air stair climb competition, and annual fundraiser held at the tallest building in town, the Columbia Center. All 2,000 participants are career, volunteer, or retired firefighters who will climb up the second tallest skyscraper west of the Mississippi in full turnout gear, weighing over 60 pounds, while on-air. Throughout this grueling course, we all remember that every step forward is representative of moving closer to a cure. Although this is an extreme test of physical endurance, it pales in comparison to what blood cancer patients endure. All proceeds raised directly benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and since its inception in 1991, this event has raised over $22 million thus far.
Thank you for your time, consideration, and sincere generosity in this cause worth climbing for.
