WHY I CLIMB?
This will be my 6th year participating in the Big Climb Seattle. I planned to climb 69 flights of stairs - but now it is a virtual climb due to COVID. I'll plan to stair climbing in Seattle and raising money for cancer research. This year, I climb in honor of my BFF’s mom, Karen Baer. She is battling her 3rd bout of cancer and I admire her strength. All proceeds benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
Although it will be challenging ascending from Lake Union to Queen Anne via the Galer Stairs, it is no comparison to the daily suffering cancer patients endure. Thank you for your consideration in donating to this cause. Any amount is greatly appreciated. - Alison
Additional info on The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society?
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is the world's largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research, education and patient services. The mission of LLS is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
Every day, more than 347 LLS sponsored researchers come closer to the goal of finding a cure for leukemia and related blood cancers. Locally, LLS funds 10 researchers at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and University of Washington Medical Center.
