Sofia Schwarzwalder's Big Climb 2021 Portal

This will be the third consecutive year that I have done the big climb. It all started in 2018-2019 season when I did the climb with a team of girls from my swim and dive team that I lead. In the 2019-2020 season, I started a club at school with my co-captain, Aliyah Lipsky, that had 10-15 regular members. Together we raised a total of $4100+ last year. This year, despite the challenges that COVID-19 has presented, the club is back for the second year with over 40 regular members who attend meetings. Additionally, our 2021 Big Climb team, Lions4L&L is expected to be our biggest to date.
I have been lucky enough to work with L&L on some special projects in the last few months, and I was honored to win the Big Climb 2020 Volunteer of the Year award. This organization is incredibly close to me, as my Grandfather has been battling CLL for 17+ years. He is the most selfless, caring, and strong person I know - it is an honor to climb on his behalf.
The money raised by the Big Climb goes directly towards funding groundbreaking research and improving the quality of life for patients and families. The work that they do is invaluable, and I am so proud to support it. It would mean the world to me if you would consider making a donation on my behalf by using the donate now button on this page. No matter how big or small, your donation helps move us towards a world without blood cancer. Thank you so much for your time and please feel free to contact me with any questions.
