Climb. Conquer. Cure.
March 26th, 2023
Greetings to all my Big Climb supporters! This year's Big Climb is a very special one because the team at LLS in Seattle has selected Tim to be one of two Big Climb Honorees! My family and I feel honored by this decision and will continue to make every effort to raise as much as we can for this worthy cause.
As many of you know, on December 14, 2014, I lost my son Tim, at the age of 35, to a very rare lymphoma called, Hepatosplenic non-Hodgkins T-cell lymphoma. He left a wife and three young children. When you lose someone dear to you, it is natural to mourn their loss. It's been eight years, and I still have a big hole in my heart. But, if you're like me, moving forward and doing something positive to help others can and does help in the grieving. LLS's Big Climb Seattle fulfills that desire.
I've always been active in life, so the challenge of climbing 69 floors, even at my age of 70, is appealing. I'm determined both to reach the top and, more importantly, to reach my fundraising goal of $10,000. Will you help me do that? I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you so much!
Mary Ellen

What is the Big Climb?
The Big Climb is a stairclimb up the Columbia Center - the tallest skyscraper in downtown Seattle. There are 69 floors of stairs, 1311 steps, and 788 feet of vertical elevation. Although it will be challenging, it pales in comparison to what blood cancer patients go through. All proceeds benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
Who is The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society?
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is the world's largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research, education and patient services. The mission of LLS is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
Every day, more than 347 LLS sponsored researchers come closer to the goal of finding a cure for leukemia and related blood cancers. Locally, LLS funds 10 researchers at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and University of Washington Medical Center. Your support and commitment to the mission of LLS enables us to continue this important work of saving lives and aids us in our ability to reach patients in our community.
Thank you for your time and I hope that you will consider donating to this cause!
