Climb. Conquer. Cure.
March 27th, 2022
I survived Mantle Cell Lymphoma in 2017 because people like you have donated to past efforts to find a cure for blood cancer.
Because of past research, I was able to receive a life saving stem-cell transplant. My doctors were able to harvest my stem cells without doing a painful bone-marrow aspiration. I was able to convalesce at home, and I tolerated most of my chemo without puking.
Because of past research, my doctors were able to present me with a treatment plan that included long-term survival.
Because of past research, I am in remission from a lymphoma that would have been a death sentence 15 years ago.
Your donation today will help others like me who benefit from continuing research into Non-Hodgkin's Lymphomas.
Your donation will also honor people like my student Ezra, an energetic, live-out-loud, almost 11 year-old, and people like my friend Bobbie, a 44 year-old hiking, climbing, mountain-biking, paddle-boarding bad-ass of a wife and mother who had no business dying; people who didn’t even get a chance to fight AML (acute leukemia) because it weakened their bodies so quickly.
Your donation will help us reach for a day blood cancer patients and their families don't need to fear statistics, when long-term survival is part of everyone's plan.
It’s a big reach but you can help.
What is the Big Climb?
The Big Climb is a stairclimb up the Columbia Center - the tallest skyscraper in downtown Seattle. There are 69 floors of stairs, 1311 steps, and 788 feet of vertical elevation. Although it will be challenging, it pales in comparison to what blood cancer patients go through. All proceeds benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
Who is The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society?
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is the world's largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research, education and patient services. The mission of LLS is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
Every day, more than 347 LLS sponsored researchers come closer to the goal of finding a cure for leukemia and related blood cancers. Locally, LLS funds 10 researchers at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and University of Washington Medical Center. Your support and commitment to the mission of LLS enables us to continue this important work of saving lives and aids us in our ability to reach patients in our community.
Thank you for your time and I hope that you will consider donating to this cause!
