Hello & welcome to South Metro Fire Rescue's stairclimb page. The Scott Firefighter Stairclimb is a race up the 76-story Columbia Center in downtown Seattle to raise money and awareness for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Last year's event raised over $640,000 and drew 1500 firefighters from over 240 departments around the world.
This is the single largest firefighter competion in the world. Each participant must wear full fire gear and SCBA while racing up 1311 stairs to the observation deck of Seattle's tallest skyscraper. At 788 feet and 76 stories, the Columbia Center has more floors than any building west of the Mississippi River. South Metro Fire Rescue welcomes this challenge and realizes that this is small-time compared to the challenges that cancer patients face each day.
We would love for you to support our fundraising efforts. Last year South Metro raised over $8600 and placed 10th out of 139 teams. This year we hope to raise over $10,000. All proceeds benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Your tax deductible donation helps in the fight against blood cancers.
Thanks for your support!
