$50 Fundraising Minimum
What is the $50 fundraising minimum?
All participants are required to fundraise a minimum of $50.00 (separate from the registration fee), kids 8-17 must raise $25. This is in addition to the $50.00 registration fee. It will also get you an event tech T-shirt and Hawaiian meal. Upon registering, every participant will be emailed a link to their personal fundraising page. Team Captains will be emailed a link to their personal fundraising page as well as their team page. For the purpose of participants reaching the fundraising minimum, all team donations will be considered evenly split amongst all team members, but team fundraising pages will only reflect the intact total. Participants who do not raise the minimum by December 31st, 2018 will not be allowed to participate in future Winter Pineapple Classics.
Why is there a $50 fundraising minimum?
When LLS was founded in 1949, a blood cancer diagnosis was almost fatal. Most leukemia patients, especially children, died within three months. Thanks in part to innovative research funded by the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), survival rates have doubled, tripled and even quadrupled for blood cancer patients. LLS is a driving force behind breakthroughs in treating blood cancer patients. In the last 18 months 25 new drugs for blood cancers were approved by the FDA, LLS funded 20 of them. For these reasons, it is vital for the Winter Pineapple Classic to maximize participant's fundraising efforts. While our focus is on creating the best experience for our participants, this event is at it's heart, a fundraiser to help blood cancer patients and researchers.

December 31st, 2018. You can earn great incentives
based on the amount you raise (although the incentive store will close 2 weeks after the event). I'm not comfortable with online fundraising. What can I do?
Paper pledge forms are available for you to use. Your donors can also mail checks to the LLS office (5601 6th Ave S, Suite 182, Seattle, WA 98108). Make sure to put "Winter Pineapple Classic" and your name for proper crediting in the subject line.
How do I handle matching gifts?
Find out if your company will match a gift to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. It's a great way to double, triple or even quadruple your donation and impact. Please keep in mind that it is not uncommon for matching gift funds to take 2-3 months to reach our LLS office. We cannot credit fundraising efforts until we have received the money as sent by your company and/or the matching gift company they use.

General Event Questions
What is the registration fee, and when is the deadline?
The registration fee is $50 per person. There are no registration refunds. You must register online by November 15th, 2018, in order to pick up your race packet before event day. All registrants after November 15th must pick up their packet on race day. You can also register at the venue on the day of the event.
How old do you have to be to participate?
All participants must be 8 years of age or older on event day. Exceptions can be made for patients and survivors on a case by case basis.
How difficult are the obstacles?
The event is geared toward participants 8 and up. Obstacles range in difficulty, but are all safe and fun. If you cannot complete an obstacle, you are welcome to walk around it.
Will I receive an event T-Shirt?
If you meet the fundraising minimum of $50. There are unfortunately no size changes on event day. You can also earn additional incentives
for raising just $150 and up! Where can I find event day photos?
We will have an album up 9 days after the event. All photos can be downloaded for free!Do I need to wear a costume?
Costumes are not required, but you are more than welcome to join all those that will be in costume!
Day of Event
I have friends that are not participating in the Winter Pineapple Classic, but still want to be involved. How can they help?

How are start times assigned?
Start times are assigned in the order that registrations are received, with preference given to Top Fundraisers of this year's campaign. Approximately 50-100 participants will be assigned per start time, starting at 8:30 a.m. Start times are spaced 15 minutes apart. They will be posted and sent out one week before the event.
Where can I find my start time?
Start times will be assigned one week out from the event. Check back here for links and all participants will be emailed their start times.
What time should my team arrive?
30-45 minutes prior to your assigned start time. Please take into consideration the time it will take to find parking.
Will I be timed?
We do not officially time participants. You are welcome to wear a timing device to time yourself.
Is there a bag check area provided?
There will be a free bag check area for personal items. Bags must be small enough to fit in a regular brown paper shopping bag. LLS is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
How much does parking cost?
Parking in the lot next to the event is $5 cash, this fee goes the park. You can get free parking by raising $1,000 or more!
Can I wear a baby backpack?
No. Baby backpacks and all other backpacks and carrying cases are not allowed on the course.
Can my family and friends watch and/or photograph me along the course?
No. For safety and liability reasons, we are unable to allow family and friends along the race course. They are welcome to hang around the vendor and kid's area!
Should I bring a change of clothes?
Absolutely! You will get a little wet and muddy along the course if you do all the obstacles. That way you can enjoy the food and beer in dry, clean clothes!
Does everyone get a Hawaiian meal?
Hawaiian meals are provided to those who raise $50 (in addition to the registration fee).
How does the beer garden work?
You must be 21 and over to enter the beer garden (don't forget your ID), you will be given a wristband good for 2 beers.
