If you were one of the 6000 participants to climb the Columbia Center this March give yourself a huge pat on the back! You collectively raised $1.6 million for blood cancer research and patient services. That's $300,000 more than last year! A very special thanks to all of the donors who helped us reach that number, and to all of our amazing volunteers and sponsors for helping make this year another great success!

On a Friday like any other, Ezra got up and went to school. It was January 29, 2009. He stayed late to play with his twin brother and friends. That evening Ezra wasn’t feeling well. We thought he had a stomach virus and took him to the doctor.
Within an hour of leaving home we heard the word Leukemia for the first time and were rushed by ambulance to Seattle Children’s Hospital, where Ezra began blood transfusions and chemotherapy.
Ezra died 6 days after his diagnosis from AML. He had a rare gene mutation that is extremely aggressive. His doctors believe he had Leukemia for about one week before he was diagnosed.
We miss Ezra! His life was a gift to all who knew him, especially his identical twin, sister, mom, and dad. Ezra was happy, funny, talented and kind. He loved performing in musicals, playing the piano, riding his unicycle, going to school, and raising guide dogs for the blind.
The Big Climb gives us a chance to honor Ezra’s memory and fight against the disease that killed him. Thank you LLS.
